At Beckfoot we work hard to embed a culture where students attend every day, are active in their learning, independent and resilient to challenge and change. Beckfoot creates a climate that allows learning to flourish and where learners feel safe and are rewarded for excellent attendance and positive behaviour.
We believe that students should be encouraged to adopt behaviour that supports learning and promote positive relationships.
Rewards
At Beckfoot School we are keen to reward our students who demonstrate they are meeting the 6 P’s and 4 curriculum drivers. Rewards and praise can include:
- Positive notes or comments on ClassCharts: Teachers and support staff write positive comments on ClassCharts when a student demonstrates excellence in a lesson
- Texts home: Every week students who achieve all ATL1s will receive a positive text home. Individual teachers, support staff and Leadership may also send personalised texts home to acknowledge exceptional behaviour and attitudes
- Attendance trophy (KS3): The year team will visit tutor groups weekly to hand our a top tutor group prize
- End of year assemblies: Celebration of achievement as a whole year group to celebrate success within and beyond the curriculum
- Red carpet events: These events take place twice a year, with students qualifying able to pick between a film, pizza, gaming, sports or art classes as an acknowledgement of their success
- End of year trips: Students will take part in an annual rewards trip at the end of each academic year to acknowledge their positive behaviour and attitudes
